As part of the Healthy - Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, the USDA was tasked with developing standards that regulate foods sold in schools outside of the School Breakfast and School Lunch Programs. These new standards are in effect as of July 1, 2014. Fundraisers, items sold in vending machines and items sold at school stores also are affected by these standards. The other area affected is the a la carte line at the middle school and high school. For more information, please contact the District Food and Nutrition Office at 480.987.5312

We are continuing with our participation in the DoD (Department of Defense) Fresh Produce Program. Participating in this program allows our students to be exposed to a greater variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. Items are updated weekly by our vendor. We encourage our parents and students to engage in conversation about the changes happening with our school lunch programs. You may learn more about the DoD Fresh Fruit and Produce Program by visiting http://www.azed.gov/health-nutrition/dod-fresh-produce-program/
